Here is a crash course in using the wiki.

Basically, you only need to type to be able to use the wiki.

If you want a section heading, type == with the heading here and then ==. That's == section name == (Ex: == Perrys of Ireland ==). For subsections it is three equal signs (=) before and after the heading name. Remember to have a space between the last equal sign and heading name and a space before the next set of equal signs.

If you want to add a link (that will become a new wiki page by you or someone else later) on the page put [[ before the word(s) that will be a new page and ]] after the word(s). Ex: "The family of [[John Smith]] lived in Virginia." (where "John Smith" is a new link)

For a link that goes away from the wiki to a different website that already exists type [http:// then the website address, then a space, then the word(s) you want listed for people to click on to go to the website and then a ]. Ex: "For an example goto the website [ Example]."

If you want to make a line to separate your sections it is listed as the last icon in the toolbar of your editing page in the wiki. If there are several sections, the wiki will automatically make a table of contents as seen on the wiki's page for the Perry Research Website listed as a link on the main page of the wiki.

Post to this topic any questions or helpful info involving the Perry Research Wiki.
